Just a quick summary of the past three days. On Fri and Sat Eden, 
Muhanji and I trekked up to Kaimosi (where the original Quaker 
missionaries started the first mission in 1902.) We met with the Kaimosi 
Hospital Board and subcommittees. FUM just took over operations two 
years ago, at the request and invitation of East Africa Yearly Meeting. 
They had had so many problems that the hospital, which once was the best 
in the region, had gone to pot. It is exciting that, since the 
renovations over he past year, the patient count has gone up so much 
that the beds are full. Be careful what you ask for because now that 
means more money needs to be raised to finish the last two wings. Do you 
remember the room where the ceiling was about to fall in last year? I 
didn't even know I was in the same place, it looks so great!

The Board decided on a first choice for the new administrator and made a 
list of priorities. The tea with mandazi (fried donuts) was delicious 
but the ugali and greens   .   .   . I was a naughty girl and took a 
sandwich and apple from home with me. They also addressed a number of 
other issues. I have to admire these Friends. Taking on the 
responsibility of Hospital Board member is more than a notion. One 
Friend, a doctor, flew in from Nairobi for the two days. He stayed 
overnight with Ben and Jodi Richmond who are interim principle at 
Friends Theological College.

Today we stayed home and caught upon sleep and I crocheted caps for 
newborns at the hospital.  Lots of love to all,
